Why opt for rug dry cleaning?

Although the more common types of rugs such as wool, wool blend and man-made fibres can be cleaned safely and effectively using moisture controlled hot water extraction cleaning, there are some that require more specialist attention due to the risk of being sensitive to water – silk and viscose in particular.

For that reason, we would opt to use our hot solvent dry cleaning machine, which uses an Odourless, Mineraless Spirit (OMS) as the active agent.

Professional Rug Dry Cleaning

It is heated up by the machine’s internal heater to the optimal temperature to break up the soils on contact with your rug(s). The excess OMS and the soiling it has loosened is then removed into the machine’s recovery tank.

Because an odourless, mineraless spirit is used during cleaning to flush out the dirt, it means that the back of the rug does not get wet, therefore promoting faster drying times.

Once we are satisfied with the look, feel and condition of your rug(s), we will then contact you to arrange their return.

Most rugs are cleaned and returned within 1 week. In some circumstances, they can be cleaned on-site and left to dry naturally.

HOST Rug Cleaning

For the more common types of rugs found in homes as mentioned above, Superior Clean also offers a HOST dry rug cleaning service for rugs with light to medium soiling. Because this is a dry rug cleaning method, we can have your rugs clean, bright and returned to you considerably quicker than if they needed restoration level cleaning.

Professional Rug Dry Cleaning
  • The HOST system uses specially dampened sponges which we scatter over your rug. We then use a machine called the HOST Reliant which uses counter-rotating brushes to carry the sponges deep down into the rugs pile where they trap, absorb and extract any soiling. We then use a commercial power vacuum cleaner to remove the sponges and soiling they have absorbed.

With the exception of some rugs that we feel are safe to be cleaned where they lie, we would normally opt to transport your rug(s) to our specialist rug cleaning facility where we can treat and clean them with the highest attention to detail.

Once cleaning is complete we will contact you to arrange their return.

greenseal and woolsafe approved logosThe HOST cleaning system is Woolsafe approved as safe for use on all wool and wool-blend rugs. It is also Greenseal certified as environmentally friendly as well as being safe around family and pets, giving you that extra piece of mind.
